How to bring some festive cheer to July

We all love Christmas although sometimes the holidays can drag on and you have to humour people you don’t really like! However, if you organise a Christmas party for July you take away all the complications, leaving you to enjoy the best bits. So, why not get those festive decorations out again and enjoy some festive cheer in July? Here are our tips on how to bring everything together.

  1. Invitations

No party is ever complete without some invitations and it is well worth giving them some extra thought. Pictures of Santa and maybe even some snowflakes can help to bring about some increased festive cheer. Naturally, the invitations should be red and green to really get people into the spirit of things. You could also insist that Santa’s hats must be worn to bring a little amusement to proceedings.

  1. Decorations

Caught up in ChristmasYou will need to get your regular decorations out but really you could consider a personalised banner which you could hang outside your property. You could also include a model of Father Christmas on the doorstep or have hosts and hostesses dressed as Santa’s Little Helpers? It doesn’t have to be expensive – it just needs to be creative.

You could again go to town here by including check table cloths and make sure you have so appropriate centrepieces such as scented candles. Confetti on the table is also a nice addition and don’t forget the crackers – OK, they may not be too easy to come by, but if you look hard enough you can find some. Alternatively, you could always make your own.

  1. The Menu

Turkey and ham are the choices of Christmas so you need to keep this in mind when you plan your menu. Also think about the vegetables that your associate with Christmas. Try and be creative with puddings too, Christmas Pudding may be hard to find but you could always try something like tiramisu. Drinks again should have a festive edge to them such as mulled wine, some festive cocktails or perhaps even some champagne.

  1. Activities

Every Christmas party involves playing games and indeed a Christmas in July Party should be no Summer-Christmas-FTDdifferent. Board games and karaoke are options that you could consider. Christmas songs are a must so it can’t be anything unrelated to Christmas. Jingle Bells or I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus are always themes that bring a smile to guests’ faces. Of course, festive hats are a must for the duration of the activities. Forfeits should be used for those who don’t enter into the Christmas mood.

  1. Additional Tips

Party favours are great for reminding people what fantastic time they had at your party. Christmas themed candy or something personal show they you have given the favours more than a little thought. There is no need to go over the top with favours and they don’t need to be expensive. It is just your way of showing your appreciation for the guests that came along.
