Not-so-Common 4th of July Party Ideas
The 4th of July is the perfect day for a family-and-friends get-together. It is a great opportunity to enjoy some sun and BBQ while swapping stories. There are many ways of making this great American holiday full of fun and games. The good thing is that everyone — kids and adults alike — can share in many of the day’s activities.
The BBQ
What good is a holiday without great food to go around? July is a great month to cook outside. Set up a few BBQs on the lawn or at the nearby park and get set on grilling. Decorate the lawn with standing flags and have lots of red, blue, and red colours all around. You can get some 4th of July themed party ware to serve the food and drinks.
When was the last time you had a great family gathering? The 4th of July is a great time to invite your long lost cousin over for some food and fun. It is a great time to catch up on relatives you haven’t seen in a long time. Have themed t-shirts for everyone with the colours of the star spangled banner everywhere. Some decorations that are a hot thing with children include oversized balloons, flag linens, star-spangled garlands and confetti. Get the games going like history trivia, themed bingo, and ring tosses.
Pool party
This is a great way to pass the day filled with watery fun, food, and drinks. Have themed beach balls for games such as pool volleyball. Have plenty of other toys like Frisbees in red, blue, and white. Your guests will be in 4th of July themed swimming outfits. Flag themed towels in red, blue, and white will also add to the ambiance. Food and drink ideas should be easy to grab. You can also go for food that follow the theme easily, such as cake pops.
Beach bash
If the beach is nearby, why not join other Americans in celebrating the holiday with a dip in the sea? Declare your patriotic fervour with flag themed swimwear. Carry a beach ball for a game of beach volleyball.
Have the group stay for the evening beach bash. Make a bonfire to sit around, swap stories, and sing old favourites like ‘Born in the USA.’ Do not forget the fireworks. The Independence Day celebrations are not complete without a big flash of fireworks display.
The big idea behind a great 4th of July holiday is taking fun ideas and applying the red, blue, and white theme into them.
